We provide education and support services to build a healthier Kansas City.

Community Health Workers (CHWs) are community residents trained to help people navigate the complex health system.  Through a powerful peer relationship, a CHW can help you identify your biggest health challenges and create a plan to overcome those challenges. KC CARE Clinic provides opt-out testing for our patients, and we help other healthcare providers implement this model. We provide training and ongoing support to help make sure HIV+ persons in our community are connected with the care they need. Through Linkage to Care, HIV+ persons receive focused case management as they connect to HIV care and ongoing treatment. This service is for those who are newly diagnosed, new to the area, or have fallen out of care. We accept referrals from the entire community to make sure all HIV+ persons get the care they need. HIV Case Managers support eligible HIV+ patients with:

  • Managing their care
  • Enrolling in insurance
  • Accessing medications,
  • Connecting to community resources
  • Overcoming barriers in their lives
  • Remaining adherent to life-saving treatment.

Midwest AIDS Training Education Center (MATEC) is a federally funded center that provides AIDS and HIV clinical training and support to health care professionals. Its mission is to enhance the capacity of HIV clinical services and improve the quality of those services for people living with HIV in our region.
